  4. 1. Run MaesTree.Exe from the DOS prompt
  5.                  or
  6.    Load Maestro, Click on Menu, DirM, Freshen Tree
  7.  
  8. We have included M.Bat which will start up Maestro by simply typing "M" 
  9. at the DOS prompt.

  14. 1. Maestree performs several functions. Primarily it creates a graphical 
  15. tree of all directories. It also calculates the file size totals which 
  16. we merge to the file displays in Maestro.
  17.  
  18. Tree changes. Directory maintenance performed in Maestro PRO will 
  19. automatically update the tree structure stored on disk. You will have to 
  20. freshen the tree any time changes are made to the structure elsewhere 
  21. such as installation of new software.

  23. Size changes. As files are copied/deleted/added, the file size totals 
  24. will change so you will need to freshen the tree to keep the totals up 
  25. to date. Realistically, the size display of directories is for reference 
  26. only and don't need updating that often. One should update after any new 
  27. software is installed.

  29. 2. Most of our users add "Maestree" to the Autoexec.Bat file so that 
  30. every time you boot the system you will have accurate data.

  32. 3. This method gives the user complete control over when the disk is 
  33. scanned. Although programs that force a disk scan every time you load 
  34. are always the safest, two years of beta testing has shown that it is 
  35. not necessary to force a scan every time the program is loaded.
